Soap & Glory: Crazy Sexy Kohl Set

I had never tried any cosmetics from the Soap &Glory line before but for Christmas I was lucky enough to receive this set of 5 waterproof eyeliners and 3 eye shadows. The products in the palette have great lasting power and I love the colour choice, the only downfall is that the packaging is quite bulky and annoying to carry around but I am on a hunt for a  mini palette to place the shadows in. *watch this space*

The three eye shadows (third picture-left to right) Aubersheen, Smokin’ and Dandy Plum are a great neutral colour range. The colors are all very wearable and versatile with different eye colors but not your typical shades for a smoky eye which is great for a change. The shadows have a subtle shimmer but can still be worn in the daytime and also look great on a night out. The black can be used to line the upper lash line and then smudged to give a softer effect and Smokin’ and Dandy Plum would look great on their own as a wash of colour all over the lid, or you can wear all three to create a gorgeous smokey eye. The shadows have medium pigmentation and are easy to blend out.

Now onto the Kohl pencils (picture above-left to right) superblack, cocoa bean, aquabat, blue my mind and grape vine are such a great set. You have the usual suspects such as the black and brown but then you have a bright aqua, dark blue and purple. Admittedly they are a lot less commonly worn; Aquabat looks quite scary and bright but is a beautiful colour that would look great in the summer as a simple pop of colour. Trust me a subtle difference can change a look completely. The dark blue and purple are a lot more wearable and can spice up your usual smoky eye.  As you can see from the picture the pigmentation of these liners are great, the consistency is creamy to apply and like the shadows; have amazing staying power. Superblack has to be the best pencil eyeliner I have tried  for tight-lining my upper lash line (which gives the illusion of thicker/fuller lashes), because it is creamy to apply it doesn’t irritate my upper water line and  stays put all day without smudging.

I think this is a brilliant palette  and would highly recommend it, especially for people who are just starting with makeup as you have the neutral and versatility of the shadows, the common black and brown eyeliners but also the fun of experimenting with the bright aqua colour eyeliner and dark blue and plum which in other cases you wouldn’t normally go for.
